An Adventure Begins!

An Adventure Begins!

I almost can’t believe that this website has launched!

From the passing idea of starting an e-commerce store, squeezing out time when the kids napped or staying up late to do all the things that were needed to get this site running, and now actually having it become real. Virtual-real, if you will, since it’s a ‘virtual store’. But hey, that’s good enough for me!

And the site wouldn’t have been possible if not for the help of Khong from Alpha Web. As I know next to nothing about setting up a website, I relied entirely on his help and expertise.

To think I clicked on his company’s URL by accident.

But you know, that’s how my journey towards building this little business has been so far – lots of serendipitous moments.

I stumbled upon the Baby K’tan by accident. I suppose it started with that carrier. So many people asked about it when I carried my baby in it that I decided to bring it in! Then there are some other products that I stumbled upon as well that I’m in discussions to add to Happy Coast Kid’s product offerings. Do keep a lookout! I hope things go well and we can add those wonderful products to the store!

Besides discovering products, there have been many other instances of chance encounters that led to interesting opportunities.

Still, you can’t rely on serendipity to reach your dreams. There was a lot of hard work that went into this venture. Hard work that I hope will blossom into something beautiful, something worthwhile.

It has been a steep learning curve for me. At times I felt daunted, at times I questioned why I was doing all of this, and I probably will still feel all those things and ask those questions from time to time. But I realise that the key is to just keep moving. Don’t stop to think too much. Just press on.

To my kids:

Mummy did it! Mummy did it with help - God’s help, Daddy’s help, other people’s help. It’s ok to have help - we can’t know everything. And as Mummy always says, there’s always something to learn from other people. But you also need to be determined and put in your best.

Be willing to learn, work hard, and just keep moving!
